This Tweet About Mindset And Money Went Viral

It’s no secret that lavish things cost a ton of money (i.e., mansions, designer clothes, fancy cars).

And seeing people with such lavish things creates an assumption of that person having a ton of money.

But the sight of these types of images over time conditions our thinking.

It conditions us to see someone with a status symbol and think they have a ton of money and someone living frugally has no money.

Which isn’t the case in any many scenarios

But this cycle has plagued most middle and lower class people. The people who will spend most or all of their earnings on designer clothes, big houses, and lavish cars.

Only to do so to look the part. To emulate the one-percenters of the world. The Floyd Mayweathers and the Jay-Z’s.

But the key to life isn’t to look the part, but to be the part.

The glitz and glamor will be the first to be publicized and marketed to keep the spending on repeat.

But some of the most wealthiest people on earth actually practice frugality rather than living lavish

This in fact prompted a viral tweet (or X) by @HeroDividend on July 26th, 2023.

The tweet (X) reads:

“Buy a brand new car and a big house and everyone thinks you have a lot of money…save, invest, and live below your means and everyone thinks you are alone”

The tweet (X) stirred up many reactions and responses to the public.

Some being in agreement with @HeroDividend (take a look below)

Some followers disagreed with the tweet (X).

This follower responding by saying “

This in turn sparked a bit of a debate regarding the intention of @HeroDividend’s tweet (X)

Summary

Ok look, it’s 2023. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and everyone has their own preferences.

@HeroDividend’s tweet (X) simply asks the question.

“What is more important to you…looking the part or being the part?”

If one cares soley about financial freedom, then placing value on materialistic items and the attention that comes with them will not serve as fulfillment.

But frugality and its benefits will.

“Set yourself up for success so you don’t set yourself up to fail”
